The Gospels

by Jerome Scholle as through March 2009 Study of Ancient Greek

Note: If you wish to view the Greek lettering, you will need to download and install the freeware true type Greek font set alkaios from http://www.lucius-hartmann.ch/diverse/greekfonts/#unicode. Although this page is primarily in German there is enough English words for one to download the font set and install.

This has been an interesting and rewarding journey to date and may you enjoy some of my life's endeavors. As I see myself after many years on this planet, I came into this system with a set of talents and abilities through which I sustain myself, but more importantly they are to be used for the benefit of others.

This translation is an intercomparison of  three Greek Texts following the Greek to capture the nuances in the Greek words through the use of one English word for one Greek word using phrases, highlighted words, and other English synonyms. Thus this translation if filled with much coding since the Greek may use multiple words for one English word. Please read the Introduction for approach, resources and other details. Greek-English and English-Greek Glossaries are in development as related to my study.

It was not my intention to write in the best English but to best capture the Greek ideas as I best understand the Greek through my continuing refining development without an allegiance to anyone denominational version.

Since any language is actually a systematic set of code or symbols for vocalizations, then all human communication is interpretation of these vocalizations. First the originator of oral or written communication is interpreting his/her thoughts in words that are not able to convey all of the nuances that are engendered in the thoughts. And secondly the hearer or reader then further interprets what he/she hears or reads based on what the words mean in his/her own experiences in life. Thus my usage of words may give an entirely different meaning than what you the reader may understand.
