Matthew Chapter 22: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)
1And the Jesus, having replied, again said to them within analogies saying, 2The dominion of the universes is resembled a person, a king, whosoever made weddingsa to the son of him; 3and he sent-authoritatively the slaves of him to have called the-ones having had been invitedb into the weddingsa, and they were not desiring to have come.
4Again he sent-authoritatively other slaves saying, Say you to the-ones having had been invitedb, lo I ╓prepared╖ ┌have prepared┐ the morning-meal of me, the bulls of me and the-ones fattened having had been slaughtered, and {the-ones} all {is} ready. Come into the weddingsa!
5Moreover the-ones, having had-no-care-for {the weddings}, went-forth, the-one indeed into the field, his-own; the-one moreover into the business of him, 6Moreover the-ones remaining, having seized the slaves of him, they treated-despitefully {them}, and they killed {them}.
7╓And╖ ┌Moreover┐ ┬the king, having heard,┬ ┌the king┐ ╥that, the king having heard,╥ was wroth, and he, having sent the armies of him, destroyed-utterly those, the murderers, and he set-on-fire the city of them.
8At-that-time he says to the slaves of him, the wedding is indeed ready; moreover the-ones having had been invitedb were not {the-ones} worthy. 9Then proceed you upon the outlets of the ways; and {the-ones} as-many-as you would find, inviteb you to the weddingsa.
10And those, the slaves, having gone-forth into the ways, gathered {the-ones} all as-many-as they found, {the-ones} base and also {the-ones} good, and the wedding was satiated of {the-ones} reclining-at-table. 11Moreover the king, having entered to have viewed the-ones having reclined-at-table, observed a person there not having had been clothed {into} a clothing of a wedding. 12And he says to him, Comrade, how did you enter here not having a clothing of a wedding?
Moreover the-one was silenced. 13At-that-time the king says to the servants, Having bound feet and hands of him, ╓lift-up you him, and cast-forth you╖ ┌cast-forth you him┐ into the darkness, the-one outer; there the wailing and gnashing of teeth will be; 14for {the-ones} many are {the-ones} invitedc, moreover {the-ones} selected {are} {the-ones} few.
15At-that-time the Pharisees, having been proceeded, took counsel to-the-end-that they might entrap him within a word. 16And they send-authoritatively to him the adherents of them with the Herodians saying, Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and within truth you teach the way of the god, and it-is-caring not to you concerning no-one, for you do not see into a face of humanity. 17Then say you to us, which think to you? Is-it-lawful to have given-freely the poll-tax to Caesar or not?
18Moreover the Jesus, having known-experientially the knavery of them, said, Why are you contesting me, expounders? 19Exhibit you to me the current-coin of the poll-tax.
Moreover the-ones brought forward to him a denarius. 20He says to them, The image of whom {is} this? And the inscription?
21They say, Of Caesar!
Then he says to them, Give-forth you the-ones of Caesar to Caesar and the-ones of the god to the god.
22And they, having heard, marveled, and they, having dismissed him, went-forth.
23Within that, the day, Sadducees, the-ones saying not to be the standing-up {of the dead}, came-forward to him, and they interrogated him 24saying, Teacher! A Moses said if- someone -would decease not having children, the brother of him will conjoin the woman of him, and he will stand-up offspringd to the brother of him.
25Moreover seven brothers were beside us, and the-one first, having married, ended-life, and he, not having offspringd, dismissed the woman of him to the brother of him. 26Also in-like-manner with the-one second and the-one third until the-ones seven, 27moreover afterwards of {the-ones} all the woman also deceased, 28then within the standing-up {of the dead} of whom of the-ones seven will the woman be for {the-ones} all have had her?
29Moreover the Jesus, having replied to them, said, You, not knowing the writings not-even the power of the god, are being misled 30for within the standing-up {of the dead} neither are they marrying nor are they being ╓given-forth-in-marriage╖ ┌given- in-marriage┐, but they are as the universal-messengers ╓of the god╖ within ╓a╖ ┌the┐ universe. 31Moreover concerning the standing-up of the-ones dead you did not discern the-one having been said to you from-under the god saying, 32I am the god of an Abraham and the god of an Isaac and the god of a Jacob, the god is not a god of {the-ones} dead but of {the-ones} living.
33And the crowds, having heard, were astounded upon the teaching of him.
34Moreover the Pharisees, having heard that he silenced the Sadducees, were gathered onto the-same {place}, 35and one learned-in-the-lawe out-of them, interrogated him contesting ╓and saying╖, 36Teacher, which injunction {is} great within the lawe?
37╓The Jesus╖ ┌The-one┐ was asserting to him, Love-affectionately you a lord, the god of you within ╓a╖ ┌the┐ whole heart of you and within ╓a╖ ┌the┐ whole soul of you and within the whole intellectual-capacity of you. 38This is ╓a first and great╖ ┌the great and first┐ injunction. 39Moreover {the one} second similar to it, Love-affectionately you the ones neighboring of you as yourself. 40Within these, the two injunctions, the whole lawe ╓and the prophets are hung╖ ┌is hung and the prophets┐.
41Moreover {upon} the Pharisees having had been gathered, the Jesus interrogated them 42saying, Which think to you concerning the-one anointed, of whom is he a son?
They say to him, Of a David!
43He says to them, Then how is a David within a spirit calling him a lord saying, 44╓The╖ ┌a┐ lord said to the lord of me be-seated you out-of {the-ones} on-the-right-hand of me until I would place the-ones hatred of you, a footstool of feet of you. 45Then if a David is calling him a lord, how is he a son of him?
46No-one was-being-able to have replied a word to him, nor did someone have the courage from that, the day, to have interrogated him no-longer.
_____
aThe Greek is plural not singular as most translation have because our concept of a wedding is one man and one woman being united. The plural is consistent with other sayings by Jesus of each being invited to be yoked with him, bought as a bond slave, where he is each is who is united with him; thus I have retained the plural. If not footnoted, the Greek is singular.
bThe Greek is καλέω, kaleō meaning call, summon, invite, invoke. One is normally invited to a wedding so I have used invite here rather than call. Also I see invite as more friendly than call which to me has a harsher tone.
cThe Greek is κλητός, klētos, an adjective meaning invited, invoked, welcomed, called out.
dThe Greek is σπέρμα, sperma, meaning seed, germ, origin; however when applied to animals and humanity it is usually translated offspring as here.
eSince the Pharisees are interrogating regarding an injunction within the law; the law is the Mosaic Law in this application.
