Chapter 13: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

 

        1Moreover within╖ ┌1Within┐ that, the day, the Jesus, having gone forth, ╓from╖ the house, was seated beside the sea. 2And many crowds were gathered towards him, therefore having embarked him into the fishing-boat to be seated and all the crowd had stood onto the beach. 3He spoke to them {the ones} many within analogies saying,

      “Lo! The one, sowing of the one‹a›, went forth to sow. 4And within the one to sow it which indeed {some} fell beside the way, and the ones winged ╓came╖ ┌having come┐, and they devoured it. 5Moreover {the ones} other fell onto the one stony, where it did not have a much land, and immediately it sprang up forth through the one not to have depth of a land, 6moreover {upon} a sun having risen, it was scorched, through the one not to have root, it was withered. 7Moreover {the ones} other fell onto the thornbushes, and the thornbushes ascended, and they stifled it. 8Moreover {the ones} other fell onto the land, the one excellent, and it was giving freely a fruit indeed {some} which {was} one hundred, moreover {some} which {was} sixty, moreover {some} which {was} thirty. 9Having ears ╓to hear╖, let the one hear!”

      10And the adherents, coming forward, said to him, “Wherefore are you speaking to them within analogies?”

      11Moreover the one, having replied, said to them, “Because to you it is has been freely given to have known experientially the secret rites of the dominion of the universes, moreover to those it is has not been freely given. 12For whosoever has, he will be freely given it, and he will be abounding; moreover whosoever has not, what he has will be lifted up from him. 13For this reason I speak to them within analogies because they, seeing, are not seeing, and they, hearing, are not hearing, nor are they comprehending thoroughly. 14And the prophecy of an Isaiah is being accomplish with them, the one saying, “With hearing‹b› you will hear, and by no means might you comprehend thoroughly; seeing you will see, and by no means might you observe.” 15For the heart of this, the people, was dulled, and they heard recondite with the ears, and they shut the eyes of them; lest perchance they might observe with the eyes, and they might hear with the ears, and they might comprehend with the heart, and they might return, and I will heal them; 16moreover happy the eyes of you because they are seeing and the ears of you because ╓it is hearing╖ ┌they are hearing┐.

      17For truly I say to you, “That many prophets and {the ones} righteous yearned to have observed what you see, and they did not observe; and to have heard what you hear and they did not hear.

      18Then hear you the analogy of the one sowing:

      19‘{Concerning the one} all hearing the word of the dominion and not comprehending thoroughly the one base comes, and he snatches the one having had been sown within the heart of him, this is the one having been sown beside the way.

      20Moreover the one, having had been sown onto the one stony, this is the one, hearing the word, and he immediately receives it with joy, 21moreover he does not have root within himself, but he is temporary, moreover {upon} an affliction or a harassment becoming because of the word, immediately he is being stumbled.

      22Moreover the one having been sown into the thornbushes this is the one hearing the word, not only the solicitude of ╓this,╖ the eon but also the beguiling of wealth press closely the word, and he fruitless becomes.

      23Moreover the one, having been sown upon the land, the one excellent, this is the one hearing the word and comprehending thoroughly who in fact is bearing fruit, and indeed the one, one hundred is making, and moreover the one sixty {is making}, and moreover the one moreover thirty {is making}.’ ”

      24He placed beside them an other analogy saying, “The dominion of the universes was resembled a person sowing excellent seed within the field of him; 25moreover within the one to lie asleep the humanity the one hatred of him came, and he ╓sowed╖ ┌sowed among┐ spurious wheat throughout among‹c› the grain‹d›, and he went forth. 26Moreover when the grass‹d› germinated, and it made a fruit; at that time it also was appeared the spurious wheat.

      27Moreover having coming forward the slaves of the master of the home said, “Sir, did you NOT sow excellent seed within the field possessed by you, whence then does it have spurious wheat?

      28Moreover the one was assert to them, “A hatred person did this.”

      Moreover the slaves ╓said╖ ┌say┐ to him, “Then do you desire we, going forth, collect them?”

      29Moreover the one ╓was asserting╖ ┌asserts┐, “No! Lest perchance you, collecting the spurious wheat, might root out the grain‹d› at the same time with them.30Dismiss you, both {are} to be growing together ╓even to╖ ┌until┐ the harvest within the season‹e› of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “Collect you the spurious wheat, and bind you it into bundles towards the one to have burned it, moreover gather you the grain into the storehouse of me.”

      31He placed beside them an other analogy saying, “The dominion of universes is similar to a kernel of mustard‹f› which a person having taken sowed within the field of him. 32Which is indeed smaller than all the seeds, moreover whenever it might be grown, it is greater than the vegetables, and it becomes a tree, therefore to have come the ones winged of the universe and to roost within the branches of it.

      33He spoke to them an other analogy saying, “The dominion of universes is similar to yeast which a woman taking ╓hid╖ ┌intermixed┐ within three saton‹g› of wheat meal until which the whole was leavened.

      34The Jesus spoke all these within analogies to the crowds, and otherwise than analogies he did not speak to them. 35To the end that the one might be fulfilled having been said through the prophet saying, “I will open the mouth of me within analogies; I will roar {those} having had been hidden from the founding of the world-order.”

      36At that time having dismissed the crowds ╓the Jesus╖ ┌he┐ went into the house; and the adherents of him came forward to him saying, “╓Explain you╖ ┌Make you quite clear┐ to us the analogy of the spurious wheat of the field.”

      37Moreover the one, having replied, said to them, “The one sowing the excellent seed is the son of the humanity; 38morever the field is the world; moreover the excellent seed these are the sons of the dominion; moreover the spurious wheat {these} are the sons of the one base; 39moreover the one hatred, the one having sown them [spurious wheat] is the one slanderous; moreover the harvest is the consummation of the eon; moreover the reapers are universal messengers.

      40Then even as the spurious wheat is collected, and it is being ╒burned completely╕ ╥kindled╥ {within} a fire; thus it will be within the consummation of ╓this,╖ the eon. 41The son of the humanity will send authoritatively the universal messengers of him, and they will collect out of the dominion of him all the stumbling-blocks and the ones doing lawlessness; 42and they will cast them into the furnace of the fire; there the wailing and the gnashing of teeth will be. 43At that time the ones righteous will beam forth as the sun within the dominion of the father of them. Having ears ╓to hear╖, let the one hear!

      ╓44Again the╖ ┌44The┐ dominion of universes is similar to a treasure having had been hidden within a field, which a person, having found, hid, and from the joy of him he departs, and ╓he trades╖ {the ones} all as much as he has, and he buys that, the field.

      45Again the dominion of universes is similar to is a person, a traveler, seeking excellent pearls, ╓46who╖ ┌46He┐, having found one highly priced pearl, having gone forth, has sold{the ones} all as much as he was having, and he bought it.

      47Again the dominion of universes is similar to a large drag net having been cast into the sea and having gathered all type of sea creature‹h›, 48which having been dragged up upon the beach when it was satiated ‹i›, and they, having sat down, collect the ones excellent into ╓containers╖ ┌buckets┐, moreover the ones poor quality they cast outside; 49thus it will be within the consummation of the eon, the universal messengers will come forth, and they will separate the ones base out of the middle of the ones righteous. 50and they will cast them into the furnace of the fire; there the wailing and the gnashing of teeth will be.

      ╓51The Jesus says to them, “Are╖ ┌51“Are┐ you comprehending thoroughly all these?”

      They say to him, “Certainly! Sir!”

      52The one said to them, “For this reason all a scribe, having been instructed ╓into╖ ┌with┐ the dominion of the universes, is similar to a person, a master of a home, whosoever casts forth {the ones} new and {the ones} old from the treasure of him.

      53And it became when the Jesus completed these, the analogies, he shifted thence 54and he, having come into the homeland of him, taught them within the sacred assembly of them, therefore {it was} to be astounding them and {they} to say, “Wherefore to this one! This, the wisdom, and the powers, 55is this one not the son of the craftsman, is NOT the mother of him called‹i› a Mary and the brothers of him: a James and a Joses and a Simon and a Judas; 56and are NOT all the sisters of him towards us, then whence to this one {are} all these?” 57And they were stumbling within him.

      Moreover the Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not dishonored except within the homeland of him and the house of him.” 58And he did not do there many powers because of the lacking complete confidence and total trust of them.

‹a›The Greek is the masculine/neuter genitive case of the article/demonstrative pronoun with no other word, thus I have rendered of the one as being something possessed by another to be sown, i.e. the implied seed (word) which would be in the accusative case. Neither Greek word for seed or kernel is used in verses 3-9 nor in the interpretation in verses 19-23. This could be interpreted as Jesus, the one sowing, is scattering the seed, the word, of the one, the father.

‹b›The Greek is ἀκοή, akoē, meaning hearing, hearsay, act of hearing; normally I uses hearsay however contextually here the act of hearing is the action so the use of hearing.

‹c›The Greek is ἀνὰ μέσον, ana mesov, literally up middle, however ἀνὰ, ana may also be translated throughout which is the context and among would make more sense for middle thus my rendering of throughout among.

‹d›The Greek is σίτος, sitos meaning human food grain such as wheat, barley corn in verses 25 and 29; however, in verse 26 when referring to the same seed the word for grass or pasture χόρτος, chortos, the animal food, is used. All of these are members of the grass family and thus as young plants look like common grasses. Spurious wheat is also known as darnel which resembles wheat but is worthless. Thus it is possible that there is a play on types of good wheat, edible by humans and animals, and worthless wheat, edible by animals only, being intermixed within the same field. See verses 37-40 for the explanation given within the gospel.

‹e›The Greek is καιρός, kairos, meaning due measure or when time inferred critical time, season, opportune time; thus contextually season as the time of harvest is the context.

‹f›The reference to mustard raises many questions as to what is it. It is definitely not the smallest seed of the vegetable seeds that I have planted, nor are any of the plants of this family or related to it known to grow into bushes so that birds can roost in them. Some of the mustards do form branch like leaf stems, but I never saw then strong enough for birds to roost on them. It is also interesting to note that the seed is sown, which would typical for the common mustard, and not planted as the Greek uses the word φυτεύω, phyteuō for planting vines, bushes and trees as would be expected if this was a bush. There are some who think that this may refer to bushes bearing seeds with a mustard-like favor or tang.

‹g›The saton is a unit if dry measure equal to 1.5 pecks or 12 quarts. Reference to this large of quantity of meal, approximately equivalent to 36 dry quarts or 41 lb of wheat flour without any reference to the quantity of yeast, is an exaggeration of what one would normally work with unless in a bakery with mechanical equipment. Having made bread one can work with about 1.0 to 1.5 pounds of flour, equivalent to 4 - 6 cups (1 - 1.5 dry quarts) of flour, intermixed with 1 ounce of yeast comfortably because the bulk will double in size during the fermentation process and is usually ended by baking for a usable product. How big would it get under ideal conditions if not stopped by baking, I do not know?

            NOTE: Looking beyond the details the message appears to be about the dominion of the universes being very large, accommodating both good and worthless, and expanding as a result of small changes.

‹h›The Greek is γένος, genos meaning class, sort, kind, race, stock; and from context all type of sea creature is implied to be gathered into the net.

‹i›The Greek is πληρόω, plēroō meaning make full, satiated, complete, fulfill; and from context satiated but not just partially but completely so that no more may be added.

‹j›The Greek is λέγω, legō, meaning to say but the context here is to name which is commonly stated to call.
