Chapter 9: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

1And he, having embarked into ╓the╖ ┌a┐ fishing-boat, crossed over, and he came into the city, his own. 2And lo they brought forward to him {a one} paralyzed having had been cast upon a couch, and the Jesus, having seen the complete confidence and total trust of them, said to the one paralyzed, “Be you of good courage, child! The failures of you have been dismissed to you.

3And lo some of the scribes said within themselves, “This one is slandering.”

4And the Jesus, having seen the reflections of them, said, “To what end are you pondering {the ones} base within the hearts of you? 5For which is easier to have said, ‘The failures of you ╓have been dismissed╖ ┌are being dismissed┐.’ Or to have said, ‘╓to have arisen╖ ┌Arise you┐, and walk you.’ 6Moreover so that you may know that the son of the humanity has an authority upon the land to dismiss failures; at that time he says to the one paralyzed, ‘Arise you, lift you up the couch of you, and depart you into the home of you.’

7And he, having been arisen, went forth into his home.

8Moreover the crowds, having observed, marveled, and they renowned the god, the one having given freely an authority, such as this to the humanity.

9And the Jesus, traveling thence, observed a person, being seated onto the custom-house, calleda Matthew, and he says to him, “Follow you me!” And he, having stood up, followed him,

10Not only did it become {upon} his reclining at table within the house, but also lo having come many toll collectors and {the ones} of bad character, having come, were reclining together at table with Jesus and the adherents of him. 11And the Pharisees, having observed, ╓said╖ ┌were saying┐ to the adherents of him, “Wherefore is the teacher of you eating with toll collectors and {the ones} of bad character?”

12And ╓the Jesus╖ ┌the one┐, having heard, said ╓to them╖, “The ones having strength do not have a need of a physician but the ones having illness. 13Moreover be proceeding learn you what I desire is a mercy and not a victimb, for I did not come to have called {the ones} righteous but {the ones} of bad character ╓into a change of principle and practice╖.”

14At that time the adherents of a John come forward to him saying, “Wherefore we and the Pharisees are fasting much,; moreover, the adherents of you are not fasting.”

15And the Jesus said to them, “The sonsc of the bridal chamber are not able to lament onto {the one} as long as the bridegroom is with them; moreover days will come whenever the bridegroom might be disjoined from them, and at that time they will fast.

16Moreover no one sewsd a patch of an unwashed cloth remnant upon an old outer garment for the filling up [the mending] o fit rendse from the outer garment, and a worse cleft becomes.f

17Nor do they pourg a fresh wine into old wineskins, moreover if not at least, the wineskins are rent, and the wine is spilt, and the old wineskins will be destroyed, but they poure a fresh wine into new leather wineskins, and both are being preserved.

18{Upon} him speaking these to them, lo one ruler, having come, made obeisance to him saying, “That just now the daughter of me ended life, but coming place you the hand of you onto her, and she will live.”

19And the Jesus, having been arisen, follow him, and the adherents of him. 20And lo a woman losing blood twelve years, having come forward behind, contacted the edge of the outer garment of him; 21for she was saying within herself, “If I would only contact the edge of the outer garment of him, I will be healedh.”

22Moreover the Jesus, ╓having been turned about‹i›╖ ┌having been turned┐ and having observed her, said, “Daughter! Be you of good courage the complete confidence and total trust of you has healedh you; and the woman was healedh from that, the secondj.

23And the Jesus, having come into the house of the ruler and having seen the flute players and the crowd being clamoring, 24He ╓says╖ ┌was saying┐ to them, “Retreat you for the little girl is not deceased, but she is lying asleep; and they were deriding him.

25Moreover when the crowd was cast forth, he, having entered, seized the hand of her, and the little girl awakened. 26And this, the chronicle, went forth into that whole land.

27And with the Jesus traveling thence two {the ones} blind followed him, screaming and saying, “Have you mercy on us a son of a David!”

28Moreover with coming into the house the ones blind came forward to him, and the Jesus says to them, “Do you have complete confidence and are total entrusting that I am able to have done this?”

They say to him, “Certainly! Sir!”

29At that time he contacted the eyes of them saying, “In accordance with the complete confidence and total trust of you, let be it became to you; 30and the eyes of them were opened; and the Jesus ╓insisted sternly╖ ┌was insisted sternly┐ to them saying, “Observe you; let be no one know experientially.”

31Moreover the ones, having gone forth, disseminated it within that ╓the one╖ ┌the┐ whole ┌land┐.

32Moreover {upon} them having come forth, lo, they brought forward to him a deaf person, being maniacal; 33and {upon} the inferior divine’s being having been cast forth the one deaf spoke; and the crowds marveled saying, “┬That never┬ ╔Neverwas it appeared in this mannerj within the Israel.”

34Moreover the Pharisees were saying within the ruler of the inferior divine beings he cast forth the inferior divine beings.

35And the Jesus, teaching with their sacred assemblies, and heralding the good news of the dominion, and treating medically all insanity and all weakness ╓within the people╖, was traversing all the cities and villages.

36He, having observed the crowds, was compassionated concerning them because they, having had been maltreated and having had been hurled, were as though sheep not having a shepherd.

37At that time he says to the adherents of him, “Indeed the harvest {is} numerous, moreover the workmen {are} few; 38then be you beseeched  the sir of the harvest to the end that he might cast forth workmen into the harvest of him.

_____

aThe Greek is λέγω, legō, meaning to say but the context here is to name which is commonly stated to call.

bThe Greek is θυσία, thysia, meaning burnt-offering, sacrifice as well as the victim, or that which is offered; contextually I see Jesus saying to the Pharisees cease your attitude towards those you do not like for you are treating them as victims for sacrifice. Also no where does Jesus say directly to the Pharisees you are bad characters but tries for them to see that in themselves by inferences for them to also come to a change of principles and practice.

cThe Greek is ὑίος, huios meanings son or child; however contextually its usage is a term of endearment by the bridegroom for his servants who are in charge of the bridal chamber.

dThe Greek is ἐπιβάλλω, epiballō, meaning cast upon, affix, contextually to mend or sew.

eThe Greek is αἴρω, airō, meaning lifts up, contextually to rend or tear.

fIn this time of durable fabrics which do not shrink upon washing nor are easily torn; also not making good rags for cleaning or other uses this verse may be hard for some to understand. However we only need to go back to shortly after World War II and prior when sometimes clothing was bought one size larger than needed because of shrinkage upon washing or if being home sewn the fabric was washed before cutting because of shrinkage. Other areas of the world may still be faced with this message as a truth even today, especially if they don’t have fabrics made in the industrialized world.

gThe Greek is βάλλω, ballō, meaning cast, contextually English to pour.

hThe Greek is σῴζω,sōizō, meaning rescue or save, contextually to rescued or saved from the lose of blood, thus healed of the infirmity.

‹i›The Greek is ἐπιστρέφω, epistrephō, meaning turn, return behave; return being my usual translation as fitting those situations, but here contextually turn about.

jThe Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually the healing was at that moment or the second.

kThe Greek is οὕτως, houtōs, meaning thus, in this manner although normally translated thus contextually in this manner is better here.
