Mark Chapter 13: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

 

        1And {upon} him proceeding-forth out-of the temple one of the adherents of him says to him, “Teacher! Of-what-sort stones and of-what-sort buildings! Observe you

      2And the Jesus, ╓having replied╖, said to him, “You are seeing these, the great buildings; a stone upon a stone will by-no-means be left‹a› ┌here┐; which will certainly be demolished.”‹b›

      3And {upon} him being-seated into the mountain of the olives diametrically of the temple a Peter and a James and a John and an Andrew were privately interrogating him, 4“╓Say you╖ ┌they said┐ to us, at-what-time will these be, and which sign may intend whenever all these to be complete?”

      5Moreover the Jesus, ╓having replied╖, began to say to them, “See you {that} not someone might mislead you. 6╓For╖ {the-ones} many will come upon the name of me saying, ‘That I am {he}.’ And they will mislead {the-ones} many.

      7Moreover whenever you might hear wars and hearsays of wars, be-scared you not, ╓for╖ it-is-needful-for to have become, but not-yet the completion. 8For nation will be arisen onto nation and dominion onto dominion, ╓and╖ agitations will be throughout places, ╓and╖ famines ╓and tumults╖ will be; these {are} ╓beginnings╖ ┌a beginning┐ of travails.

      9Moreover see you yourselves‹c›, for they will hand-over you into councils and into sacred-assemblies, you will be thrashed; and upon sovereigns and kings you will be stood on-account-of me into testimony to them; 10and it-is-needful-for to have been heralded the good-news ╓first╖ into all the nations.

      11╓Moreover╖ ┌And┐ whenever they, handing-over you, ╓might lead╖ ┌may lead┐ {you}, cogitate you not which you might speak, ╓not-even premeditate you╖, but if- which -would be given-freely to you in that, the moment‹d›, speak you this-one for you are not the-ones speaking but the spirit, the-one sacred.

      12╓Moreover╖ ┌And┐ a brother will hand-over a brother into a death, and a father {will hand-over} a child {into a death}, and children will rebel onto parents, and they will put-to-death them.

      13And you, being abhorred from-under {the-ones} all, will be because-of the name of me, moreover the-one having remained- firm into the completion, this-one will be rescued.

      14Moreover whenever you might observe the detestable-idolatry-of-the-desolation‹e›, the-one having been said from-under a Daniel, the prophet, having had been stood where it-is-needful-for not {it to be}; let the-one, discerning, apprehend, at-that-time let the-ones flee within the Judea into the mountains.

      15Moreover the-one upon the housetop, let he descend not ╓into the house╖, not-even let he enter to have lifted-up something out-of the house of him. 16And let the-one ╓of whom╖ into the field, return not into the-one back to have lifted-up the outer-garment of him.

      17Ah!-Woe! Moreover to the-ones having within a womb and the-ones suckling within those, the days.

      18Moreover pray you so-that ╒it╕ ╥the flight of you╥ might not become {upon} stormy-weather.

      19For those, the days, will be such-as an affliction, such-as this ┌which the god created until the-one now┐ from a beginning of a settling ╓of which the god created until the-one now╖, has not become, and by-no-means might it become; 20and except a lord curtailed the days, all flesh would not be rescued but because-of the-ones selected, whom he elected, he curtailed the days.

      21And at-that-time if- someone -would say to you, ‘╓Lo!╖ ┌Observe you!┐ Here {is} the-one anointed! ╓Or lo!╖ ┌Observe you!┐ There {he is}. ‘Have-complete-confidence-or-be-totally-entrusting you not22For false-ones-anointed and false-prophets will be awakened, and they will give-freely signs and portents towards the-one, ╓lo,╖ to lead astray, if possible, also the-ones selected.

      23Moreover see you, I have foretold you {the-ones} all

      24But within those, the days, after that, the affliction, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give-freely the radiance of it; 25and the stars ╓of the universe, falling-forth╖ ┌falling out-of the heavens┐, will be, and the powers, the-ones within the universes, will be vibrated; 26and at-that-time they will observe the son of the humanity coming within clouds with a mighty power and renown. 27And at-that-time he will send-authoritatively the universal-messengers ╓of him╖, and he will assemble the-ones selected of him out-of the four winds from an extremity of an earth until an extremity of a universe.

      28Moreover from the fig-tree learn you the analogy, whenever the branch of it might already become tender, and it may bud, you know-experientially that the summer is near. 29And thus whenever you might observe these, becoming, you know-experientially it is near upon the entries.

      30Truly I say to you that by-no-means might this, the generation, pass even-to which might become all these. 31The universe and the earth will pass; moreover by-no-means might the words of me pass.

      32Moreover concerning that, the day, ┬and┬ ╔or╗ the moment‹d› no-one, neither the universal-messengers, ╓the-ones╖ within the universe, nor the son, knows except the father.

      33See you, be-watchful you, ╓and pray you╖ for you do not know at-what-time the instance-of-crisis‹f› is.

      34As a person abroad, having dismissed the house of him and having given-freely the slaves of him the authority ╓and╖ to each the work of him, and to the door-keeper he enjoined so-that he may be-fully-awake.

      35Then be-fully-awake you! For you do not know at-what-time the sir of the house is coming: ┌or┐ late-in-the-day or of at-midnight or of cock-crow or at-morn; 36he, having come suddenly, might not find you, lying-asleep; 37 moreover ╓which╖ ┌which┐ I say to you, I say to {the-ones} all, ‘Be-fully-awake you ”

‹a›The Greek is ἀφίημι,aphiēmi, meaning properly to send from one’s self, thus in this context to leave.

‹b›The second and third clauses have the Greek verbal aspect of aorist subjunctive being in this context equivalent to the future with the double negative idiom of οὐ μὴ, ou mē meaning by no means, thus translated first by-no-means and second certainly.

‹c›The Greek is reflexive 3rd person plural, however contextually it is 2nd person plural thus that translation.

‹d›The Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus con textually at the immediate time and not before thus moment.

‹e›Although the Greek word may be translated abomination, it is a biblical word used for the Hebrew word in Daniel שִׁקֻּץ referring to detestable idolatry of the desolation. This then distinguished from other actions that may be interpreted as abominations within the Hebrew Scriptures.

‹f›The Greek is καιρός, kairos, meaning due measure or when time inferred critical time, season, opportune time; thus contextually instance-of-crisis.
