Chapter 9: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)
1And he was saying to them, Truly I say to you, that some of the ones, having had stood here, are whosoever by no means might taste of death until they would observe the dominion of the god, having had come within a power.
2And after six days the Jesus takes along the Peter and the James and ╓a╖ ┌the┐ John, and he brings them up alone privately into an elevated mountain, and he was transformed in front of them. 3And the outer garments of him became {the ones} exceedingly gleaming white ╓as falling snow╖ such as a cloth maker upon the earth is not being able to have made ┌thus┐ white. 4And an Elijah with a Moses was observed to them, and they, conversing, were with the Jesus; 5the Peter, having replied, says to the Jesus, My honorable sir, it is excellent {for} us to be here, might we make three tents, one to you, one to a Moses and one to an Elijah?
6For he had not known, what he ┬might spoke┬ ┌replied┐ ╥will speak╥ for affrighted they ╓were╖ ┌became┐; 7and a cloud overshadowing them became, and a voice ╓came╖ ┌became┐ out of the cloud ┬saying┬, This is the son of me, the one affectionately beloved; hear you him. 8And suddenly they, having gazed around, no longer observed no one but the Jesus alone with themselves. 9╓Moreover╖ ┌And┐ {upon} them descending ╓from╖ ┌out of┐ the mountain he admonished them so that they recount to no one what they observed except whenever the son of the humanity might stand up out of {the ones} dead; 10and they, disputing what is the one to have stood up out of {the ones} dead, held fasta the word towards themselves.
11And they were interrogating him saying, That the scribes say that it is needful for an Elijah to have come first. 12Moreover the one ╓, having replied, said╖ ┌was asserting┐ to them, Indeed an Elijah, having come, first is restoring {the ones} all, and how it has been written onto the son of the humanity so that he might suffer much, and he might be treated with contempt and scorn. 13But I say to you that not only has an Elijah come but also they did to him {the ones} as much as they ╓desired╖ ┌were desiring┐ according as it has been written onto him.
14And ╓he╖ ┌they┐, having come towards the adherents, observed a large crowd around them; and the scribes disputing ╓with╖ ┌towards┐ them. 15And ╓immediately╖ ┌straightway┐ ╓{he}╖ ┌{they}┐ having observed him all the ╓crowd was╖ ┌crowd were┐ awed; and they, having run, were kindly welcoming him. 16And he interrogated ╓the scribes╖ ┌them┐, What are you disputing towards them?
17And one ╓, having replied,╖ ┌replied,┐ out of the crowd said, Teacher, I brought towards you the son of me, having a speechless spirit. 18And ╓where╖ ┌wherever┐ it ╓would╖ ┌might┐ overtake him, it is writhingb him, it foams, and it chatters the teeth ╓of him╖, and he is paralyzedc, and ╓we╖ ┌I┐ said to the adherents of you so that they might cast it forth, and they had not strength.
19Moreover the one, having replied to ╓him╖ ┌them┐, says, Oh! Impaired of complete confidence and total trust generation! How long will I be towards you, and how long will I put up of you? Bring you him towards me!
20And they brought him towards him, and the spirit, having observed him, ╓immediately convulsedb╖ ┌straightway contortedb┐ him, and he, foaming having fallen upon the land, was rolling. 21And he interrogated the father of him, How long a time is it since this has become to him?
Moreover the one said, ╓From╖ ┌Out of from┐ childhood! 22And many times it cast him not only into ╒a╕ ╥the╥ fire but also into a water so that it might utterly destroy him; but everything that you, having been compassionated onto us, are being able, Succor you us!
23Moreover the Jesus said to him, The one, if you are being able, ╓to had complete confidence and be totally entrusting╖, {the ones} all possible to the one having complete confidence and being totally entrusting. 24╓And immediately╖ ┌Straightway┐ the father of the toddler, having screamed, was saying ╔with tears╗, I have complete confidence and am totally entrusting, sir, succor you the lacking complete confidence and total trust of me.
25Moreove the Jesus, having observed that a crowd is hastening, censured the spirit, the one impure, saying to it, The ╓ spirit, the one speechless and deaf╖ ┌speechless and deaf spirit┐, I charge you, come you forth out of him, and no longer might you enter into him. 26And it, having screamed and having much convulsed ╓him╖, came forth, and he became like {the one} dead, therefore ╓{the ones}╖ ┌the ones┐ many to say that he deceased. 27Moreover the Jesus, having seized ╓him of the hand╖ ┌of his hand┐, awaken him, and he stood up.
28And ┌{upon} him having entered┐ into a home ╓having entered him╖ the adherents of him were interrogating him privately because we were not being able to cast it forth.
29And he said to them, This, the type, is being able within no one to have come forth except within prayer ╓and fast╖.
30And they, having gone forth thence, were journeying by through the Galilee, and he did not desire so that anyone might know experientially. 31For he taught the adherents of him, and he was saying to them, That the son of the humanity is being handed over into the hands of humanity, and they will kill him, and he, having been killed, will stand up ╓{upon} the third day╖ ┌after three days┐. 32Moreover the ones were failing to understand the message, and they were terrifying to have interrogated him.
33And ╓he came╖ ┌they came┐ into a Capernaum, and he, having become into the house, was interrogating them, What were you debating towards yourselvesd within the way?
34Moreover the ones were keeping silent for within the way they were discussed towards one another, Who {is} greater?
35And he, having sat down, summoned the ones twelve, and he says to them, Anyone who is desiring to be {the one} first, he will be {the one} lowest of {the ones} all and a servant of {the ones} all.
36And he, having taken a toddler, stood him within {the one} middle of them and he, embracing him, said to them, 37╓If whoever welcomed ╖ ┌Whoever might welcome┐ one of the toddlers such as these upon the name of me, is welcoming me; ╓If whoever welcomed ╖ ┌Who would welcome┐ me, is not only welcoming me, but also the one, having authoritatively sent me.
38╓Moreover╖ ╓a╖ ┌the┐ John ╓replied╖ ┌was asserting┐ to him ╓saying╖, Teacher, we observed someone casting forth inferior divine beings ╓{with}╖ ┌within┐ the name of you ╓who is not following with us╖, and we ╓hindered╖ ┌were hindering┐ him because he ╓follows╖┌was following┐ not with us.
39Moreover the Jesus said, Do you not hinder him for no one is who will do a power upon the name of me, and he will {not} be able quickly to have reviled me.
40For who is not against ╓you╖ ┌us┐, he is one behalf of ╓you╖ ┌us┐; 41for who would furnish you liquid, a cup of a water, within ┬the┬╔a╗ name ╓of me╖ because you are of {the one} anointed; truly I say to you by no means might he utterly destroy the recompense of him.
42And ╥if╥ whoever stumbled one of ┌these, ┐ the ones little, having complete confidence and be totally entrusting into me; it is more excellent to him if a ╓stone for a mill╖ ┌millstone for a donkey┐ is put around the neck of him, and he has been cast into the sea.
43And if the hand of you would stumble you, cut you it off; it is excellent ╓to╖ ┌{onto}┐ you to have entered {as the one} crippled into the real and genuine life, than having two hands to have gone forth into the valley of Hinnom into the fire, the one unquenchable, ╓44where the worm of them is not ending life, and the fire is not extinguished.╖
45And if the foot of you would stumble you, cut you it off; is it excellent to you to have entered {as the one} lame into the real and genuine life, than having two feet to have been cast into the valley of Hinnom ╓into the fire, the one unquenchable, 46where the worm of them is not ending life, and the fire is not extinguished.╖
47And if the eye of you would stumble you, cast you it forth, is it excellent ╓to╖ ┌{onto}┐ you to have entered {as the one} one-eyed into the dominion of the god, than having two eyes to have been cast into the valley of Hinnom ╓into the fire╖, 48where the worm of them is not ending life, and the fire is not extinguished.
49For {the one} all will be salted with a fire, ╓and all a sacrificee will be salted with a salt,╖ 50the excellent salt; if the salt would become {the one} unsalted, within what will it season. You havef a salt within yourselves, and bring you peace within one another.
_____
aThe Greek is κρατέω krateō meaning be strong, seize, control; thus contextually hold fast or keep amongst themselves.
bThe Greek in verse 18 is ῥήσσω, rhēssō meaning rend, shatter, let break loose; thus contextually let break loose as being unstable or medically to writhe as a person with an epileptic seizure. This word has a very similar meaning to the words in verse 20 σπαράσσω, sparassō in the TR and MT texts and συσπαράσσω, sysparassō in the NA text, thus the meanings of convulse, and contort respectively.
cThe Greek is ξηραίνω, xērainō meaning parch, wither, dry up; thus contextually he could be made extremely thirsty or like a paralytic. This is the form used for the person with the withered hand in Mark 3:3 thus the use of paralyze.
dThe Greek is reflexive 3rd person plural, however contextually it is 2nd person plural thus that translation.
eThe Greek is θυσία, thysia, meaning burnt-offering, sacrifice as well as the victim, or that which is offered; elsewhere it is translated as victim.
fThe Greek verb form may be either indicative as here or as imperative in which case it would read have you.
