Chapter 20: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

 

        1 Moreover {upon} the one of the Sabbathsa, a Mary the Magdalene comes early yet {upon} blackness being into the sepulcher and she sees the stone having had been lifted up from the sepulcher. 2Then she runs, and she comes towards a Simon Peter and towards the other adherent whom Jesus was friendly loving, and she says to them, “They have lifted up the sir out of the sepulcher, and we do not know where they placed him.”

      3She went forth, then, the Peter and the other adherent were also coming into the sepulcher. 4Moreover the ones two were running together, the other adherent ran forward more quickly than the Peter, and he came first into the sepulcher. 5And he, having looked sideways, sees the swathing lying; nonetheless he did not enter.

      6Then a Simon Peter following him comes, and he enters into the sepulcher, and he ascertains the swathing lying; 7and the face cloth which was upon the head not lying with the swathing, but having had been wrapped up apart into one place.

      8Then at that time the other adherent, the one having come first, also entered into the sepulcher, and he observed, and he had complete confidence and was totally entrusting; 9for they were as not yet knowing the writing that it is needful for him to have stood up out of {the ones} dead. 10Then again the adherents went forth towards ╓themselves╖ ┌them┐.

      11Moreover a Mary, weeping aloud, had stood outside ╓towards╖ ┌at┐ the sepulcher. Then as she wept aloud, she looked sideways into the sepulcher, 12and she ascertained two universal messengers within {the ones} white, sitting, one towards the head and one towards the feet, where the body of Jesus was lying. 13And those say to her, “Why are you weeping aloud?”

      She says to them, “Because they have lifted up my sir, and I do not know where they placed him.” 14And she, having said these, turned back into the ones, and she ascertains the Jesus having had stood, and she was not knowing that he is ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus.

      15╓The╖ ┌A┐ Jesus says to her, “Woman, why are you weeping aloud? Whom are you seeking?”

      That one thinking that he is the keeper of the orchardb says to him, “Sir, if you have bore him, say you to me where you placed him, and I will lift him up.”

      16╓The╖ ┌A┐ Jesus says to her, “Mary!”

      That one, having turned, says to him in Hebrew, “Rhabbonic!” which says, “Teacher!”

      17Jesus says to her, “Contact you me not for I have not yet ascended towards the father ╓of me╖. Moreover proceed you towards the brothers of me, and say you to them that I am ascending towards the father of me and a father of you; also a god of me and a god of you.”

      18A Mary the Magdalene, ╓reporting╖ ┌announcing┐ that ╓she has╖ ┌I have┐ observed the sir, and he said these to her, comes to the adherents.

        19Then {upon} that, the day, being evening, the one of ╓the╖ Sabbaths, and {upon} the entries having had been closed where the adherents ╓, having had been gathered,╖ were because of the terror of the ones Israelite, the Jesus came, and he stood into the one middle, and he says to them, “Peace to you!”

      20And he, having said this, showed ╔them╗ the hands and the side ╓of him╖. Then the adherents rejoiced having observed the sir. 21Then the Jesus said to them ┌again┐, “Peace to you! According as the father has authoritatively sent me, also I am sending you.”

      22He, having said this, he breathed upon {them}, and he says to them, “Receive a sacred spirit. 23Would you dismiss the failures of someone, they ╓are being dismissed╖ ┌have had been dismissed┐ to them; would you held fastd, they have had been held fastd.”

      24Moreover Thomas, one of the ones twelve, the one being callede Didymus, was not with them when ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus came. 25Then the other adherents were saying to him, “We have observed the sir.”

      Moreover the one said to them, “Except I might observe the mark of the nails within the hands of him, and I might cast the finger of me into the mark of the nails within him, and I might cast the hand of me into the side of him; by no means might I have complete confidence and be totally entrusting.”

      26And after eight days again the adherents of him were within and Thomas with them; {upon} the entries having had been closed the Jesus comes, and he stood into the one middle, and he said, “Peace to you.”

      27Accordingly he says to the Thomas, “Bring you the finger of you, and observe you the hands of me; and bring you the hand of you, and cast you into the side of me; and become you not impaired of completely confidence and total trust, but completely confident and totally entrusting.”

      28┬And the Thomas┬ ┌A Thomas┐ ╥And Thomas╥ replied, and he said to him, “The sir ╥of me╥! And the god of me!”

      29The Jesus says to him, “Because you have observed me, ╥Thomas,╥ you have had complete confidence and are totally entrusting; happy are the ones not having observed and having had complete confidence and be totally entrusting.”

        30Then indeed the Jesus did also many other signs face-to-face of his adherents which is not written within this document. 31Moreover these have had been written so that you might have complete confidence and be totally entrusting that ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus is the one anointed, the son of the god, and so that you, having complete confidence and being totally entrusting, may have a real and genuine life within the name of him.

aThis phase as one being feminine thus referring to day which is feminine and then could be translated day one of the week, since Sabbath is plural and thus referring to week and not a specific day. In addition the Passover is called the Great Sabbath and is a seven day feast, however every seven days the weekly Sabbath occurs since the Greek is plural it thus differentiates between the singular or once a year Great Sabbath and that occurring every seven days. The timing here is that there is the Great Sabbath followed by a weekly Sabbath and its day of preparation before Mary could first come to the tomb.

bThe Greek is κηπουρός, kēpouros meaning keeper of a garden, gardener, however since I am using orchard as the place so in keeping with my usage keeper of the orchard.

cThe Greek is ῥαββονί, rhabboni meaning my most honorable sir, however in light of definition following, the transliteration is used.

dThe Greek is κρατέω, krateō meaning be strong, prevail, seize, hold fast; the context is to have endured or continued to hold or hold fast, so as not to dismiss, thus the usage of hold fast.

eThe Greek is λέγω, legō meaning say, however we use called to name an alias.
