John Chapter 12: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)
1Then the Jesus before six days of the Passover came into a Bethany where a Lazarus, ╓the-one having had died╖ whom ╓he╖ ┌a Jesus┐ awakened out-of the dead, was. 2Then they made a meal with him there, and the Martha was serving; moreover the Lazarus was one ╓of╖ ┌out-of┐ {the-ones} ┬reclining-together-at-table {with}┬ ╔reclining-at-table with╗ him.
3Then the ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐, having taken a litraa of a very-costly unguent of a liquid spikenard, besmeared the feet of the Jesus, and with the hair of her she wiped the feet of him; moreover the house was fulfilled out-of the odor of the unguent.
4╓Then one out-of the adherents of him, Judas Iscariot of Simon╖ ┌Moreover a Judas, the Iscariot, one out-of the adherents of him ┐, the-one intending to hand-over him, says, 5Wherefore was this, the unguent, not sold {over} three-hundred denariib and it was given-freely to {the-ones} begging; 6moreover he said this not because it was caring to him concerning the-ones begging, but because he was a thief, and ╓he was having the money-purse, and╖ ┌having the money-purse┐ he was bearing the-ones being cast.
7Then the Jesus said, Leave-alone youc her, she ╓has preservedd╖ ┌might preserved┐ it into the day of the laying-out-for-burial of me. 8For you always have the-ones begging with yourselvese, moreover you do not always have me. 9Then ╓a╖ ┌the┐ a large crowd out-of the-ones Israelite knew-experientially that he is there, and they came not because-of the Jesus alone but so-that they might also observe the Lazarus whom he awakened out-of {the-ones} dead. 10Moreover the chief-priests agreed so-that they might also kill the Lazarus, 11because {the-ones} many were departing of the-ones Israelite because-of him, and they were having- complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into the Jesus.
12The-next-day ╓a╖ ┌the┐ large crowd, the-one have come into the feast, having heard that ╒the╕ ╥a╥ Jesus is coming into a Jerusalem. 13They took the fronds of the palm-trees, and they went-forth into an engagement with him, they were ╓screaming╖ ┌shouting┐, Save-now! The-one coming within the name of a sir, having had been praised, ┌and┐ the king of the Israel.
14Moreover the Jesus having found a colt sat-down onto it according-as it, having had been written, is. 15Be-terrified you not! Daughter of Zion! Lo! The king of you, being-seated onto the foal of a donkey, comes.
16╓Moreover the╖ ┌The┐ adherents of him did not know-experientially these, the-one first, but when ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus was made-renowned at-that-time they remembered that these, having had been written about him, was; and they did these to him.
17Then the crowd, the-one being with him when he summoned Lazarus out-of the sepulcher and awaken him out-of {the-ones} dead, were bearing-witness. 18For-this-reason also the crowd encountered him because it heard this-one, himself, to have had done the sign.
19Then the Pharisees said towards themselves, Ascertain you that you not derive-profit, {the-one} nothing. Observe you! The world-order went-forth back of him.
20Moreover some were Greeks out-of the ones ascending so-that they might make-obeisance within the feast. 21Then these came-forward to a Philip, the-one from a Bethsaida of the Galilee, and they were asking him saying, Sir, we desire to have observed the Jesus.
22╓A╖ ┌The┐ Philip comes, and he says to the Andrew; ╓and again an Andrew and a Philip say╖ ┌an Andrew comes, and Philip also, they say┐ to the Jesus.
23Moreover Jesus ╓replied╖ ┌replies┐ to them saying, The fitting-timef has come so-that the son of the humanity might be made-renowned. 24Truly, truly, I say to you, except the kernel of the grain, having fallen into the land, would decease, it alone remains; moreover if- it -would decease, it brings much fruit.
25The-one, loving-friendly the soul of him, ╓will destroy-utterly╖ ┌ destroys -utterly┐ it; and the-one, abhoring the soul of him within this, the world-order, will maintain it into a real-and-genuine-life lasting-for-an-eon. 26If- ╓he╖ ┌someone┐ -would serve me, let he follow me; and where I am, there also is the servant, the-one possessed-by-me; ╓and╖ if- someone -would serve me, the father will honor him.
27Now the physical-life of me has been troubled, and which may I say? Father, rescue you me out-of this, the fitting-timef! But, for-this-reason, I came to this, the fitting-timef! 28Father! Make-renowned you the name of you.
Then, a voice came out-of the universe; not-only did I make-renowned {it}, but-also again I will make-renowned {it}.
29Then the crowd, the-ones having had stood and having heard, were saying, To have had become a thunder.
{The-ones} other were saying, A universal-messenger has spoken to him.
30The Jesus replied, and he said, This, the voice, has became not because-of me, but because-of you. 31Now a judgment of this, the world-order, is; now the official of this, the world-order, will be cast-forth outside. 32And-I if-would be lifted-high out-of the land, I will attract {the-ones} all towards myself. 33Moreover he was saying this signifying which a death, he ╓intended╖ ┌was intending┐ to decease.
34╓The╖ ┌Then the┐ crowd replied to him, We heard out-of the lawh that the-one anointed stays into the eon; and how do you say, ╒That it╕ ╥It╥-is-needful-for the son of the humanity to have been lifted-high? Who is this, the son of the humanity?
35Then the Jesus said to them, Yet, the light is a short time ╓with╖ ┌within┐ you, walk you ╓as-long-as╖ ┌inasmuch-as┐ you have the light so-that a blackness might not overtake you, also the-one walking in the blackness does not know where he is goingh. 36╓As-long-as╖ ┌Inasmuch-as┐ you have the light, have you-complete-confidence-and-be-totally entrusting into the light so-that you, sons of a light, might become.
Jesus spoke these; and he, having gone-forth, was hid from them.
37Moreover, {onto} so-many signs of having been done of him in-front-of them; they were not having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him, 38so-that the word of an Isaiah, the prophet, might be fulfilled which said, Lord, who was having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting in the report of us and the arm of the Lord to whom it was revealed. i
39For-this-reason they were-being-able not to have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting into him; that again an Isaiah said, 40He has blinded the eyes of them, and he has hardened the heart of them so that they might not observe with the eyes, and they might {not} apprehend {within} the heart, and they might ╓return╖ ┌turn┐; and I will heal them. 41Isaiah said these ╓when╖ ┌that┐ he observed the renown of him, and he spoke concerning him.
42Equally nevertheless {the-ones} many out-of the officials also had-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him, but they were not conceding because-of the Pharisees so-that they, expelled-from-the-sacred-assembly, might not become, 43for they loved-affectionately the renown of the humanity more-exceedingly ┬than┬ ╔than-even╗ the renown of the god.
44Moreover a Jesus screamed, and he said, The-one having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into me has-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting not into me but into the-one having sent me. 45And the-one ascertaining me ascertains the-one having sent me. 46I, a light, have come into the world-order so-that the-one all, having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into me, may not stay within the darkness. 47And if- someone -would hear the messages of me, and he might not ╓have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting╖ ┌maintain┐, I am not judging him; for I did not come so-that I am judging the world-order, but so-that I might rescue the world-order. 48The-one, setting-at-naught me and not receiving the messages of me, has the-one judging him; the word, which I spoke to him, that-one, judges him within the last day. 49Because I not spoke out-of myself, but the father, the-one having sent me, ╓gave-freely╖ ┌has given-freely┐ me the injunction which I might say and which I might speak. 50Also I know that the injunction of him is a real-and genuine-life lasting for an eon; then which I am speaking? According-as the father has spoken to me, thus I am speaking.
_____
aThe Greek is λίτρα, litra a unit of weight = to the Roman libra, approximately 12 English ounces, it may be translated as pound but that is confusing with our pound of 16 oz.; so I have used the transliteration of the Greek.
bSee note at the end of John 6 concerning denarii.
cThe Greek is ἀφίημι, aphiēmi, meaning properly to send from ones self or dismiss, thus in this context leave alone.
dThe Greek is τηρέω, tēpeō meaning guard, heed, preserve, retain; thus contextually the preserve as keep back for later use.
eThe Greek is reflexive 3rd person plural, however contextually it is 2nd person plural thus that translation.
fThe Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually hour because a number is given.
gThe law referred to here would be the Mosaic law or the writings of the Israelites.
hThe Greek is
ὑπάγω, hypagō meaning lead
under, bring under, to go away, depart; the latter my usual translation.
Thus one cannot determine from where he departs or where he arrives in the
darkness which contextually implies a total blackness or no hint of any light
whatsoever. This is the demarcation of the light entering the earth in
