John Chapter 11: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

 

        1Moreover someone, a Lazarus ailing, was from a Bethany out-of the village of a Mary and a Martha, the sisters of him. 2Moreover a ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐, whose the brother, Lazarus, was ailing, was the-one having besmeared the sir with an unguent‹a› and {the-one} having wiped the feet of him with the hair of her. 3Then the sisters sent-authoritatively‹b› {an agent} towards him [Jesus] saying, “Sir, Observe you, whom you love-friendly, he is ailing.”

      4Moreover the Jesus, having heard, said, “This, the feebleness, is not towards a death, but on-behalf-of the renown of the god so-that the son of the god might be made-renowned through it.”

      5Moreover the Jesus was loving-affectionately the Martha and the sister of her and the Lazarus. 6Then inasmuch-as he heard that he was ailing, indeed at-that-time he stayed two days within a place which he was.

      7After this thereupon he says to his adherents, “May we lead again into the Judea.”

      8The adherents say to him: “Our-honorable-sir, ┬they┬ ╔the-ones Israelite╗ are now seeking to have flung-stones-at you; and you are departing there again.”

      9Jesus replied to them, “Are there NOT twelve hours‹c› of the day? If- someone -would walk within the day, he does not strike-against because he is seeing the light‹d› {upon} this world-order. 10Moreover if- someone -would walk in the night, he strikes-against because the light is not within him.”

      11He said these, and after this he says to them, “Lazarus, the-one friendly-loving of us, has been fallen-asleep‹e›; but I am proceeding so-that I might revive him.” 12Then the adherents ╓of him╖ said ┌to him┐, “Sir, if he has been fallen-asleep‹e›, he will be rescued.”

      13Moreover the Jesus had said concerning the death of him; moreover those thought that {it was} concerning the lying-down-to sleep‹f›, {that} he says of the sleep‹g›.

      14Then, at-that-time the Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is deceased. 15And I am rejoicing because-of you so-that you might have complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting that I was not there, but may we lead towards him.”

      16Then Thomas, the-one, being called‹h› Didymus, said to fellow-adherents, “May we also lead, so-that we might decease with him.

      17Then the Jesus, having come, found him, having four days already within the sepulcher. 18Moreover, the Bethany is near the Jerusalem, nearly from 15 stadia [approximately 1.7 miles]. 19╓And╖┌Moreover┐ {the-ones} many out-of the ones Israelite had come towards ╓the-ones around a Martha and a Mary╖ ┌the Martha and a Mariam┐ so-that they might console them concerning the brother ╓of them╖.

      20Then inasmuch-as the Martha heard that ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus comes, she encountered him; moreover, a ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐ was sitting-down within the home. 21┬The┬ ┌Then the┐ ╥Then a╥ Martha said towards the Jesus, “Sir, if you were here, the brother of me ╓would not had died╖ ┌would not deceased┐. 22But also now, I know that as-much-as you would request-for-yourself of the god, the god will give-freely to you

      23The Jesus says to her, “The brother of you will stand-up.”

      24╓A╖ ┌The┐ Martha says to him, “I know that he will stand-up within the standing-up within the last day.”

      25The Jesus said to her, “I am the standing-up and the real-and-genuine-life; the-one, having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into me, even-if he may decease, will live. 26And {the-one} all, the-one living and having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into me, by-no-means may he decease into the eon. Do you have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting {into} this?”

      27She says to him, “Certainly, Sir! I have had-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting thatyou╗ are the-one anointed, the son of the god, the-one coming into the world-order.”

        28And she, having said these, went-forth, and she summoned a ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐, the sister of her, having said secretly, “The teacher is-present, and he is summoning you.

      29╓Inasmuch-as╖ ┌Moreover inasmuch-as┐ that-one heard, she quickly ╓arises╖ ┌was arisen┐; and she ╓comes╖ ┌was coming┐ towards him. 30Moreover, the Jesus had not-yet come into the village, but he was within the place where the Martha encountered him. 31Then the-ones Israelite, the-ones being with her within the house and consoling her, having observed the ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐ that she hastily stood-up, and she went-forth, they followed her ╓saying╖ ┌thinking┐, “That she is departing into the sepulcher so-that she might weep-aloud there.”

      32Then inasmuch-as the ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐ came where Jesus was; she, having observed him, fell ╓into╖ ┌towards┐ the feet of him saying, “Sir, if you were here, the brother of me would not decease.”

      33Then inasmuch-as a Jesus observed her weeping-aloud and the-ones Israelite meeting with her weeping-aloud; he deeply-moved‹i› {within} the spirit, and he disturbed himself. 34And he said, “Where have you placed him?”

      They said to him, “Sir, come you and observe you

      35The Jesus wept-tearfully.

      36Then the-ones Israelite said, “Observe you! How he was loving-friendly him.”

      37Moreover, some out-of them said, “Was- not this-one, the-one having opened the eyes of the-one blind, -being-able to have done so-that this-one also might not decease?”

      38Then a Jesus again, being deeply-moved‹i› within himself, comes into the sepulcher; moreover, it was a cavern, and a stone was-closed upon it. 39The Jesus says to them, “Lift-up you the stone.”

      The Martha, a sister of the-one ╓having had died╖ ┌having had ended-life┐, says to him, “Sir, he already smells for it is on-the-fourth-day.”

      40The Jesus says to her, “Did I not say to you that if- you -would have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting; you will observe the renown of the god.”

      41Then they lifted-up the stone of which the-one, having been dead, lying, was. Moreover, the Jesus lifted-up the eyes up-on-high and said, “Father, I thank you that you heard me. 42Moreover I was knowing that you always hear me, but I said because-of the crowd, the-ones, having had stood-around, so-that they might believe that you sent-authoritatively me.”

      43And he, having said these, shouted with a great voice, “Lazarus, come outside!”

      44And the-one, having had died, having had been bound the feet and the hands with bands-of-cloth, and the sight of him had been tied-around with a face-cloth, came-forth. The Jesus says to them, “╓Loose you him, and dismiss you╖ ┌ Loose you, and dismiss you him┐ to depart.”

      45Then the-ones many, having come out-of the-ones Israelite, towards the ╓Mary╖ ┌Mariam┐ and having viewed ╓which╖ ┌which┐ ╓the Jesus╖ ┌he┐ did, had-complete-confidence-and-were-totally-entrusting into him. 46Moreover, some went-forth out-of them towards the Pharisees, and they said to them which ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus did.

      47Then the chief-priests and the Pharisees gathered a council; and they were saying, “Which do we do because this-one, the person, is doing many signs? 48If- we -would dismiss him, thus {the-ones} all will have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting into him; and the-ones Roman will come, and they will lift-up not-only the place but-also the nation of us.”

      49Moreover one, someone out-of them, Caiaphas, chief-priest, being of that-one, the year, said to them, “You do not know nothing. 50Nor are you ╓debating╖ ┌concluding-by-reasoning┐ that it is expedient to ╓us╖ ┌you┐, that one person might decease on-behalf-of the people, and might not the whole nation destroy-utterly.”

      51Moreover, he said this not from himself, but a chief-priest, being of that, the year, prophesied that ╓the╖ ┌a ┐ Jesus was intending to decease on-behalf-of the nation. 52And not only on-behalf-of the nation but so-that also the children of the god, the-ones dispersed, might gather into one. 53Then from that, the day, they ╓deliberated╖ ┌agreed┐ so-that they might kill him.

      54Then ╓a╖ ┌the┐ Jesus was no-longer walking plainly within the-ones Israelite, but he went-forth thence into the country into an Ephraim, being called‹h› a city near the-one uninhabited; and-there he ╓spent time╖ ┌stayed┐ with the adherents ╓of him╖.

      55Moreover the Passover of the-ones Israelite was near, and {the-ones} many were ascending into a Jerusalem out-of the country before the Passover so-that they might hallow‹j› themselves. 56Then they were seeking the Jesus, and they, having been standing within the temple, were saying with one-another, “Which think with you, that by-no-means he might come into the feast?” 57Moreover ╓also╖ the chief-priests and the Pharisees had given ╓an injunction╖ ┌injunctions┐ so-that if- someone -would know-experientially where he is, he might inform to-the-end-that they might detain him.””

‹a›See John 12:3 for the definition of unguent

‹b›The Greek is to send authoritatively by a messenger or agent. Thus the reply would also come back by the messenger or agent. The word agent is chosen here to avoid confusion with other words specific for a messenger.

‹c›The Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually hour because a number is given.

‹d›The Greek context of verses 9-10 appears to be harkening back to the light shining in the darkness and the latter not comprehending, if so then a preposition is missing in verse 9, thus {upon} makes sense in this context for the one seeing the light has comprehended it and is part of it. This is also in agreement with being in the world-order and not of the world-order.

‹e›The Greek is κοιμάω, koimaō meaning to sleep generally as the physical human activity, but may also be that for death as Jesus is implying here.

‹f›The Greek is κοίμησις, koimēsis meaning normal physical human sleep from κοιμάω, koima.

‹g›The Greek is ὕπνος hupnos the meaning of the sleep of death, thus the Jesus is stressing that the sleep associated with death is the same as normal physical human sleep.

‹h›The Greek is λέγω, legō, meaning to say but the context here is to name which is commonly stated to call.

‹i›The Greek is ἐμβριμάομαι, embrimaomai meaning deeply moved, admonish urgently in the context here deeply moved, elsewhere I use sternly insist.

‹j›The Greek is ἀγνίζω, agnizō meaning cleanse, purify, sacrifice, hallow in the context here hallow, embodies the previous meanings for the Israelites would ceremonially prepare themselves for the feast through any or all of the first three meanings.
