John Chapter 7: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)

1And after these the Jesus was walking within the Galilee; for he was not desiring to walk within the Judea because the-ones Israelite were seeking to have killed him.

2Moreover the feast, the booths‹a› of the-ones Israelite, was near. 3Then the brothers of him said towards him, “Transition you hence and depart you into the Judea so-that the adherents of you ╓might ascertain╖ ┌will ascertain┐ also the works of you which you are doing. 4For no-one does something covertly, and he seeks to be frankly if you are doing these; manifest you yourself to the world-order.” 5For not-even the brothers of him are having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him.

6Then the Jesus says to them, “The opportune time‹b›, the-one possessed-by-me, is-present not-yet; moreover the opportune-time‹b›, the-one possessed-by-you, is always at-hand‹c›. 7The world-order is-being-able not to abhor you; moreover it abhors me because I am bearing-witness concerning it; because the works of it is {the-ones} base. 8Ascend you into ╓this,╖ the feast; I am ╓not-yet╖ ┌not┐ ascending into this, the feast, because the opportune-time‹b› ╓the one╖ possessed-by-me has not-yet been fulfilled.” 9Moreover he, having said these to them, was staying within the Galilee.

10Moreover, as the brothers of him ascended, at-that-time also he ascended into the feast, not openly, but as covertly.

11Then the-ones Israelite were seeking him within the feast, and they were saying, “Where is that-one?”

12And {the-one} many, grumbling concerning him, was within the crowd; indeed the-ones were saying, “He is good!” ╔Moreover╗ {the-ones} other were saying. “No! But he is misleading the crowd!” 13Nonetheless, no-one was speaking plainly concerning him because-of the terror of the-ones Israelite.

        14Moreover, {upon} already being-in-the-middle-of the feast, ╓the ╖ ┌a ┐ Jesus ascended into the temple, and he was teaching. 15╓And ╖ ┌Then ┐ the-ones Israelite marveled saying, “How does this-one know the books‹d›, not having learned‹e›

16╔Then╗ the Jesus replied to them, and he said: “The instruction possessed-by-me is not {the-one} possessed-by-me, but of the-one having sent me; 17if- someone -would desire to do the will of him, he will know-experientially concerning the instruction whether it is of the god, or I am speaking from myself. 18The-one, speaking from himself, seeks the renown, the-one his-own; moreover the one seeking the renown, the-one, having been sent him, this-one is truthful, and a wrongdoing is not within him. 19A Moses has not freely given the law to you; and no-one out-of you is doing the law; why are you seeking to have me killed.”

20The crowd replied ╓and it said╖, “You have an inferior-divine-being who is seeking to have you killed.”

21┬The┬ ╔A╗ Jesus replied, and he said to them, “One work I did; and you all are marveling. 22For-this-reason a Moses has freely given the circumcision to you, that it is not out-of the Moses, but out-of the fathers, and you circumcise a male-baby‹f› within a Sabbath. 23If a male-baby‹f› receives a circumcision within a Sabbath so-that the law might not be loosed; {why} are- you -angry with me because I have made a whole man healthy within a Sabbath. 24 Judge you not in-accordance-with a sight, but ╓judge you╖ ┌judge you┐ the righteous judgment.”

25Then some out-of the Jerusalemites were saying, “Is this-one not whom they are seeking to have killed? 26Yet, Observe you! He is speaking plainly, and they say nothing to him, lest-perchance the officials in-reality knew-experientially that this-one is ╓in-reality╖ the-one anointed. 27But we know this, moreover, whence the-one anointed is; whenever he may come; no-one knows-experientially whence he is.”

28Then the Jesus, teaching and saying within the temple, screamed, “And-me you know, and you know whence I am; and I have not come from myself, but he, the-one having sent me, is true whom you do not know. 29┬Moreover┬ I know him because I am beside him, and-that-one sent-authoritatively me. ”

30Then, they were seeking to have detained him, and no-one affixed the hand onto him because the fitting-time‹g› of him had not-yet come. 31Moreover {the-ones} many out of the crowd had-complete-confidence-and-were-totally-entrusting into him, and they were saying, “╓That whenever╖ ┌Whenever┐ the-one anointed might come ╓whether-perchance‹h›╖ he will ┌not┐ do mightier signs than which this-one did.”

32The Pharisees heard the crowd, grumbling these concerning him; and ╓the Pharisees and the chief-priests╖ ┌the chief-priests and the Pharisees┐ sent-authoritatively assistants so-that they might detain him.

33Then Jesus said ┬to them┬, “I am with you yet a short time, and I am departing to the-one having sent me. 34You will seek me, and you will not find ┌me┐; and where I am, you will be-able not to have come.”

35Then the-ones Israelite said towards themselves, “Where is this-one intending to proceed that we will not find him; he is not intending to proceed into the dispersion of the Greeks and to teach the Greeks? 36Who is ╓this,╖ the word, which he said, ‘You will seek me, and you will not find ┌me┐; and where I am, you will be-able not to have come.’ ”

37Moreover within the last day, the-one great, of the feast, Jesus had stood, and he screamed saying, “If- someone -would thirst, let he come towards me and let he drink; 38the-one having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into me according-as the writing said, “Rivers of a living water will stream out-of the cavity of him.”

39Moreover he said, “This concerning the spirit, which the-ones having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him, were intending to receive, for the ╓sacred╖ spirit was not-yet because ┬the┬ ╔a╗ Jesus was as-not-yet made-renowned.”

      40{The-ones} many out-of the crowd, having head ╓the word╖ ┌these, the words┐, were saying, “This-one is in-reality the prophet.”

41{The-ones} other were saying, “This-one is the-one anointed.”

Moreover {the-ones} others were saying, “For the-one anointed does not come out-of the Galilee. 42NOT╖ ┌Not┐! The writing said, “That the-one anointed comes out-of the seed of a David and from a Bethlehem, the village, where a David was.”

43Then a cleft became within the crowd because-of him. 44Moreover some out-of them were desiring to have detained him; but no-one affixed the hand onto him.

45Then the assistants came towards the chief-priests and the Pharisees, and these said to them [assistants], “Wherefore did you not lead him?”

      46The assistants replied, “Not-even-ever, a person spoke thus╓, as this-one, the person╖.”

47Then the Pharisees replied to them, “Have you not had been misled, also?”

48Not someone out-of the officials has-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him or out-of the Pharisees, 49but this, ╓domed╖ ┌accursed┐, the crowd, the one not knowing-experientially the law, are.

50Nicodemus, one being out-of them, the-one having come ╓of a night╖ ┌the one former┐, says, 51“The law of us does not judge the person except- you -would hear formerly beside him, and you may know-experientially which he is doing.”

52They replied, and they said to him, “Not also you out-of the Galilee! Search you and observe you! That a prophet has not had been awaken out-of the Galilee.”

      53And {the-one} each ┬was proceeded┬ ┌were proceeded┐ ╥went-forth╥ into the home of him.

_____

‹a›The Feast of Booths is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Ingathering, Succoth, Sukkot, Sukkoth. The Hebrew word means interwoven boughs. This is a joyous feast following the most solemn feast of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and commemorates the Israelites living in booths for forty years in the wilderness Lev 23:43. It is also a time of thanksgiving for the harvest because the farmers lived in booths during the harvest.

‹b›The Greek is καιρός, kairos, meaning due measure or when time inferred critical time, season, opportune time; thus contextually opportune-time as time for an event is not yet or is already at hand.

‹c›The Greek is ἕτοιμος, hetoimos meaning at hand, ready contextually at-hand as at this time reads better than ready, thus the usage whereas other places ready is used.

‹d›The Greek is γραμμα, gramma meaning drawing, written characters, letters, book, treatise contextually the writings used by the Hebrews, especially the Torah as well as the other writings such as the Psalms. Since elsewhere γραφή, graphē is used and translated writing for these, I have translated this as books to be inclusive of all the writings.

‹e›The implication is Jesus has not gone to the Hebrew schools which all Hebrew boys would have attended, thus the marveling of the crowds. There is nothing in the Gospels indicating that Jesus actually participated in anyway in the upbringing of Hebrew boy other than the account of circumcision and as a young lad teaching in the temple.

‹f›The Greek is ἄνθρωπος, anthrōpos in this context a male-baby which was to be circumcised on the eighth day after birth.

‹g›The Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually the fitting-time, since a unknown time is indicated.

‹h›The Greek is μήτι, mēti a marker indicating that the answer to the question following is expected to be negative and is often untranslated, however I have chosen to translate as whether-perchance for inclusiveness of all Greek words.
