John Chapter 4: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)
1Then
inasmuch-as the ╓sir╖ ┌Jesus┐ knew-experientially
that the Pharisees heard that a
Jesus is making more adherents, and he is purifying
than a
6Moreover a wellb of the Jacob was there, then Jesus, having had grown-weary out-of the journey, was sitting thus upon the wellb; it was ╓about╖ ┌nearly┐ a sixth hourc, 7A woman comes out-of the Samaria to have drawnd a water; the Jesus says to her, Give-freely you me to drink.
8For the adherents of him had gone-forth into the city so-that they might buy nourishment.
9Then the woman, the Samaritan, says to him, How you, {the-one} Israelite being beside me, request-for-yourself to drink of a woman, a Samaritan being, for {the-ones} Israelite are not associating-with Samaritans.
10Jesus replied, and he said to her. If you were knowing the benefaction of the god, and who is the-one saying to you, Give-freely you me to drink you would requested-for-yourself of him, and he would give-freely you a water, {the-one} living.
11The woman says to him, Sir, you have nor a bucket for drawing-water, and the cistern is deep; whence then do you have the water, the-one living? 12You are not greater than the father of us, Jacob, who gave-freely us the cistern, {are you}? And he drank out-of it, and the sons of him and the animals of him.
13╓The╖┌A┐Jesus replied, and he said to her, The-one all drinking out-of this, the water, will thirst again; 14moreover whoever might drink out-of the water which I will give-freely him by-no-means might he thirst into the eon; but the water, which I will give-freely him will become within him a source of a water springing into a real-and-genuine life lasting-for-an-eon.
15The woman says towards him, Sir, give-freely you this, the water, to me so-that I will not thirst, and I not-even ┬may come┬ ┌may traverse┐ ╥come╥ hither to sample. 16╓The Jesus╖ ┌He┐ says to her, Depart you, summon you the man of you, and come you hither.
17The woman replied, and she said ┌to him┐, I have not a man.
The Jesus says to her, You said rightly that you have not a man; 18for you had five men and whom, you have now, is not a man of you, this you have said {the-one} truthful.
19The woman says to him, Sir, I ascertain that you are a prophet. 20The fathers of us made-obeisance within this, the mountain; and you say that within a Jerusalem is the place where it-is-needful-for to make-obeisance.
21The Jesus says to her, Woman, ╓have you╖ ┌have you┐-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting to me that the fitting-timee comes when you will make-obeisance to the father neither within this, the mountain, nor within a Jerusalem. 22You are making-obeisance {towards} which you do not know; we are making-obeisance {towards} which we know that the preservation is out-of the-ones Israelite, 23but the fitting-timee is coming and now it is when the true worshippers will make-obeisance within a spirit and a truth; and for the father is seeking such-as-these, the-ones making-obeisance, {towards} him. 24A spirit {is} the god, and it-is-needful-for the-ones, making-obeisance {towards} him to make-obeisance in a spirit and a truth.
25The woman says to him, I know that a messiah, the-one being said {the-one} anointed, is coming; whenever he might come that-one proclaims to us {the-ones} all.
26The Jesus says to her, I am {he}, the-one speaking to you. 27And upon this the adherents of him came, and they ╓marveled╖ ┌were marveling┐ that he was speaking with a woman. Nonetheless no-one said, Which are you seeking, or why are you speaking with her?
28Then the woman dismissed the jug of her, and she went-forth into the city, and she says to the humanity. 29Come! Observe you! A person who said to me {the-ones} all as-much-as I did; whether-perchancef is this-one, the-one anointed? 30┬Then they┬ ╔They╗ went-forth out-of the city, and they were coming towards him.
31Moreover within the-one meanwhile the adherents asked him saying, Our-honorable-sir, eat you!
32Moreover the-one said to them, I have meatg to have eaten which you do not know.
33Then the adherents were saying towards one-another, Did someone not bring to him to have eaten.
34The Jesus says to them, A foodh possessed-by-me is so that ╓I do╖ ┌I might do┐ the will of the-one, having sent me, and I might consummate the work of him.
35Do you not say that it is yet {the-one} of-four-months, and the harvest is coming. Lo! I say to you, Arouse you the eyes of you, and view you the countries that they are {the-ones} white towards a harvest already. 36╓And the-one╖ ┌The-one┐ reaping receives a recompense ╓and╖ he gathers a fruit into a real-and-genuine-life lasting-for-an-eon so-that ╓also╖ the-one sowing may rejoice together, and the-one reaping {may rejoice}. 37For within this the word is ╓the-one╖ true because {the-one} other is the-one sowing and {the-one} other {is} the-one reaping. 38I sent-authoritatively you to reap which you have not grown-weary; {the-ones} other have grown-weary; and you have entered into the toil-and-trouble of them.
39Moreover, out-of that, the city, {the-ones} many of the Samaritans had-complete-confidence-and-were-totally-entrusting into him because-of the word of the woman bearing-witness, because he said to me {the-ones} all ╓as-much-as╖ ┌which┐ I did. 40As then the Samaritans came towards him, they were asking him to have stayed beside them, and he stayed there two days; 41and within {the-one} many, they had-complete-confidence-and-were-totally-entrusting {the-ones} more because-of the word of him.
42And to the woman they were saying, That we no-longer have-complete-confidence-and-are-totally-entrusting because-of the speech possessed-by-you for we have heard, and we know that this-one is in-reality ╓the-one anointed,╖ the rescuer of the world-order.
43Moreover after the two days he went-forth thence ╓, and he came-forth╖ into the Galilee; 44for he, ╓the╖ ┌a┐ Jesus, bore-witness that a prophet has not a value within the homeland his-own. 45Then when he came into Galilee, the-ones Galilean, having had observed {the-ones} all ╓which╖ ┌as-much-as┐ he did within a Jerusalem within the feast, welcomed him; for they also went into the feast. 46Then ╓the Jesus╖ came again into the Kana of the Galilee where he made the water {into} wine.
And someone royal, whose soni was ailing, was within a ╓Capernaum╖ ┌Capharnaum┐. 47This-one, having heard that a Jesus has-arrived out-of the Judea into the Galilee, came-forth to him, and he asked him so-that he might descend, and he might heal the soni of him for he was intending to decease.
48Then the Jesus said towards him, Except- you -would observe signs and portents, by-no-means might you have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting.
49The-one royal says to him, Sir! Descend you before the toddleri of me to have deceased.
50The Jesus says to him, Proceed you, the soni of you lives.
And the person had-complete-confidence-and-was-totally-entrusting the word which ┬a┬ ╔the╗ Jesus said to him, and he proceeded. 51Moreover already {upon} him descending the slaves of him ╓confront╖ ┌encounter┐ him ╓and they reported╖ saying, That the boyi of ╓you╖ ┌him┐ lives.
52Then he inquired beside them the timej {within} which he had better-health. ╓And╖ ┌Then┐ they said to him that yesterday the seventh hourc the very-high-feverk dismissed him. 53Then the father knew-experientially that ╓within╖ ┌{within}┐ that, the timej, within which the Jesus said to him, {╓That the╖ ┌The┐ sonh of you lives. He had-complete-confidence-and-was-totally-entrusting, and the whole house of him {had-complete-confidence-and-was-totally-entrusting}. 54╓The╖ ┌Moreover the┐ Jesus, having come out-of the Judea into the Galilee, did again this, a second sign.
_____
aThe Greek is λέγω, legō, meaning say but the context here is to name which is commonly stated to call.
bThe Greek is πηγή, pēgē, meaning running water, fount, source; the context of the passage is a dug source or well, having a wall around to protect against surface water entry and for a cover over to protect detrimental entries, and thus a place one could also sit.
cThe Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually the hour, since a specific time within the day is implied.
dThe Greek is ἀντλέω, antleō meaning bale water or draw water; and with the following word for water, there is a redundancy so only one usage is expressed.
eThe Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually the fitting time, since a unknown time is indicated.
fThe Greek is μήτι, mēti a marker indicating that the answer to the question following is expected to be negative and is often untranslated, however I have chosen to translate as whether perchance for inclusiveness of all Greek words.
gThe Greek is βρῶσις, brōsis meaning meat, eating, corrosion which context indicates something humans eat, thus meat for better clarification than eating as used in Matthew.
hThe Greek is βρῶμα, brōma meaning food, meat, which is eaten by chewing as opposing htat which is drunk. However, here and the verse 32 the context of Jesus words is metaphors for the mental or spiritual food which brings inner satisfaction of the spirit which the adherents did not appear to grasp.
iIn this verse and those following different speakers use different words for this same person Verses 46, 47, 50 and 53 the person is a son υἱός, huios; verse 49 a toddler παιδίον, paidion up to school age and verse 51 a boy παῖς, pais up to puberty. παιδίον, paidion is properly the diminutive of παῖς, pais. So it is not clear what the age of the son is.
jThe Greek is ὥρα, hōra meaning any period of time, season, year, fitting time; thus contextually the time, since a known specific time within an event has occurred is being inquired.
kThe Greek is πυρετός, pyretos meaning a fiery heat thus applied to a person a fever however here more probably, not our common thought of a fever just above a normal temperature, but one in which critical measures must be taken, thus my choice of a very high fever. The sense of verse 49 is a father who is desperate which also indicates a very high fever.
