John Chapter 3: (Introduction to the Gospels, Coding Reference)
1Moreover, a person out-of the Pharisees, Nicodemus, a name to him, was of a ruler of the-ones Israelite. 2This-one came of a night towards ┬the Jesus┬ ╔him╗, and he said, “My-honorable-sir, we know that you, a teacher, have come from a god for no-one is-being-able to do these, the signs, which you are doing except the god would be with him.”
3╓The╖ ┌A┐ Jesus replied, and he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you except- someone -would be begotten‹a› from-above, he is-being-able not to have observed the dominion of the god.”
4The Nicodemus says towards him, “How is-being-able a person to have been birthed‹a›? He, being an old-man, is-being-able not to have entered a-second-time into the cavity of the mother of him and to have been birthed‹a›.”
5┬The┬ ╔A╗ Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I say to you except- someone -would be begotten‹a› out-of a water and a spirit, he is-being-able not to enter into the dominion of the god. 6The-one, having had been begotten‹a› out-of the flesh, is a flesh; and the-one, having had been begotten‹a› out-of the spirit, is a spirit. 7May you marvel not! That I said to you, it-is-needful-for you to have had been begotten‹a› from-above. 8The wind‹b›, where it desires, blows, and you hear the sound‹c› of it, but you know not whence it is coming and where it is departing; thus is the-one all, having had been begotten‹a› out-of the spirit.”
9A Nidocemus replied, and he said to him, “How is-being-able it to have become these?”
10┬The┬ ╔A╗ Jesus replied, and he said to him, “You are the teacher of the Israel, and you do not know-experientially these! 11Truly, truly I say to you, that which we know, we are speaking; and which we have observed, we are bearing-witness; and you are not receiving the attestation of us.” 12If I said to you the-ones earthly, and you are not having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting; how if- I -would say to you the-ones heavenly, will you have-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting?
13And no-one has ascended into the universe, except the-one, the son of the humanity, ╓being the-one within the universe╖, having descended out-of the universe.
14And according-as a Moses lifted-high the snake in the-one uninhabited, thus it-is-needful-for the son of the humanity to have been lifted-high, 15So-that the-one all, having-complete-confidence-and-be-totally-entrusting ╓into╖ ┌within┐ him, ╓might not destroy-utterly {himself} but╖, he may have a real-and-genuine-life lasting-for-an-eon.
16For thus the god loved-affectionately the world-order, therefore he gave-freely the son ╓of him╖, the-one unique, so-that the-one all, having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him, might not destroy-utterly {himself}, but he may have a real-and-genuine-life lasting-for-an-eon.
17For the god did not send-authoritatively the son ╓of him╖ into the world-order so that he may judge the world-order, but so-that the world-order might be rescued through him.
18The-one, having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into him, is not being judged; moreover the-one, not having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting, has already been judged because he has not had-complete-confidence-and-been-totally-entrusting into the name of the unique son of the god.
19Moreover this is the judgment that the light has come into the world-order, and the humanity loved-affectionately more-exceedingly the darkness than the light for {the-ones} base‹d› was the works of them.
20The-one all, practicing {the-ones} perfunctory‹e›, abhors the light, and he does not come towards the light so-that the works of him might not be decided. 21Moreover the-one, doing the truth, comes towards the light so-that the works of him might be manifested because they, having had been worked within a god, is.
22After these the Jesus came, and his adherents, into the land, Judea; and there he was spending-time with them, and he was purifying.
23Moreover, a John, also purifying, was within an Aenon near the Salem because much waters was there, and they were reaching, and they were being purified. 24For the John, having had been cast into the prison, was not-yet.
25Then an investigation out-of the adherents of a John became with ╓{the-ones}╖ ┌{the-one}┐ Israelite concerning a cleansing.
26And they came towards John, and they said to him, “My-honorable-sir! Who was with you across the Jordan River? {The-one} to whom you have borne witness? Observe you! This-one is purifying; and {the-ones} all are coming towards him!”
27A John replied, and he said, “A person is-being-able not to receive ╓nothing╖ ┌not-even one┐ except- it, having had been given-freely to him, -would be out-of the universe. 28They, you bear-witness to me that I said ╖ ┌that┐ I am not the-one anointed, but because I, having had been sent-authoritatively, am in-front-of that-one.
29The-one, having the young-wife, is the bridegroom, moreover the-one loving-friendly of the bridegroom, the-one, having had stood and hearing him, rejoices with joy because-of the voice of the bridegroom, then this, the joy, the-one possessed-by-me, has been fulfilled.
30It-is-needful-for that-one to grow, moreover {it-is-needful-for} me to be diminishing.
31The-one, coming from-above is on-top of {the-ones} all, the-one being out-of the land is out-of the land, and he speaks out-of the land; the-one, coming out-of the universe, is on-top of {the-ones} all.
32╓And which╖ ┌Which┐ he has observed, and he heard; he bears-witness, and no-one is receiving the attestation of him. 33The-one, receiving the attestation of him, affirmed‹f› that the god is true, 34for whom the god sent-authoritatively, he speaks the messages of the god; ╓the god╖ ┌he┐ does not give-freely the spirit out-of a standard-of-judgment. 35The father may love-affectionately the son, and he has given-freely {the-ones} all within the hand of him.
36The-one, having-complete-confidence-and-being-totally-entrusting into the son has a real-and-genuine-life lasting-for-an-eon; moreover the-one, refusing-compliance to the son, will not observe a real-and-true-life, but the wrath of the god is staying onto him.
_____
‹a›The Greek is γεννάω, gennaō meaning beget if contextually for a male or birth if contextually for a woman. Because the ancient cultures had the heavenly being as male and the earthly being as female in their religious systems as well as Jesus referring to he heavenly being with the term father, it is only appropriate to speak of being begotten from above, but to speak of being birthed from the mother.
‹b›The Greek is πνεῦμα, pneuma meaning spirit but wind in this the context.
‹c›The Greek is φωνή, phōnē, meaning utterance, voice, sound; contextually for the wind sound.
‹d›The Greek is πονηρός, poēnros which is usually translated as base, evil or wicked. Because there is much variation as what these terms include, however the basic meaning for these terms is transgressions of the divine law of unconditional love to the god and his creation, particularly fellow humanity.
‹e›The Greek is φαῦλος, phaulos meaning weak, ordinary, easy, worthless, mean, of no account which contextually is linked to evil in the previous clause thus bad, evil, base, wicked. These latter are the more common translations. However, on a broader basis, I see this indicating everything is evil that is not in harmony with producing fruitfulness as Jesus commanded elsewhere thus a broader term perfunctory.
‹f›The Greek is σφραγίζω, sphragizō meaning close with a seal, authenticate with a seal, accredit, affirm; in this context affirm makes the most sense.
